The Hazardous Waste Regulations in 2005 prevents fluorescent tubes and bulbs from being sent to normal disposal sites due to the mercury they contain, meaning they must be recycled. Modern LED tubes and bulbs must also be recycled at end of life.
Site Clear Solutions can collect your spent tubes or bulbs and take them safely away to be treated and recycled in accordance with an approved WEEE recycling scheme.

We supply a variety of different size and shape of containers so that customers can store used tubes and bulbs until we visit to collect them. After collection, crushing equipment will dismantle the bulbs into separate components such as the mercury and glass. This is the most environmentally friendly way to recover the hazardous waste materials to be re-used.

Comprehensive Audit Trail
All waste movements require a full audit trail to show the waste has been properly collected and taken to an authorised waste transfer station or disposal facility. Site Clear will provide all documentation in accordance with legislation, for example some old CRT monitors are classed as hazardous items and will require a Hazardous Waste Consignment Note rather than a standard Waste Transfer Note for non-hazardous WEEE waste.
Site Clear have also invested in a fully comprehensive electronic system that allows our operatives to capture all the necessary information for each waste stream and all relevant signatures. Our Transfer Notes can then be emailed or directly uploaded to our customers IT platforms for seamless data sharing, reporting and ease of invoicing.
